Day 39

Osuna Campground Madrid, Spain 10:16pm 7-29-10

Today I woke up feeling sick. Troy and I slept in until almost 10am. We both needed the rest. I had some breakfast and then we walked to the Metro. We got into Madrid, it was already hot! We walkeda round the Puerto Del Sol and went into El Corte Ingles to use the bathroom and found a supermarket on the ground floor so we got some lunch. We sat on a bench in the shdae and ate our bread and cheese. Then we went in search of the Royal Palace and Cathedral. On the way stopped in a music shop and Troy found this guitar that he really wanted to buy. We headed on, Troy was impressed with the palace. We had a snack on the steps of the Cathedral and then we decided to find El Parque Retiro. On the way we got side tracked and ended up buying our tickets to Portugal for tomorrow night. The train station was like a rain forest. It has all these turtles and we got to see them being fed. After the station we headed to the park, it was huge. We wealked through paths and got to a big lake where people could rent row-boats. We thought about renting one, but it was so hot and the late was in the direct sunlight. We headed back to Puerto Del Sol and got some dinner fixings. On the way we stopped into the James Joyce Irish Bar for a drink and Troy talked to the manager about playing a gig there. Troy was super excited.We headed to the metro and back to camp. I stayed there while Troy went to the Internet place. One more day in Madrid, then we head to Portugal.
