Day 3 Cont'd

Park in Paris 1:03 PM 6/23/10

We are sitting at a park across from Notre Dame. Today has been pretty good day. We got several things accomplished that are worth noting: 1. We found Shakespeare and Company. 2. We got Nutella crepes and French onion soup. 3. We showered!!

We checked in with the bookstore and they told us to check back in the afternoon to see if they have any openings. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but if we don't get in today, we'll try back tomorrow nad the next day. The nutella crepes were amazing and Troy said American french onion soup will never taste good again. We found some public showers, which was sorely needed and now we're relaxing, which was also sorely needed. Troy's ankle has been swelling up and my shoulders are burning and chafing from carrying the pack. I really hope we are able to stay and work at Shakespeare and Company, it would be really convenient since we're right next to it at the park and also, it would be nice to know we have a place to stay tonight. Troy is napping and I'm going to read some. I've started 'In Cold Blood' which is a really bizarre contrast to Paris.

Eiffel Tower 8:53PM 6/23/10

Today was a tough day. We walked around all day with out packs on. My shoulders were killing me for a while. We were not able to work at Shakespeare and Company, they said they had enough people. So we don't know where we are going to sleep tonight. Troy wants to climb a fence and sleep under a bush. I'm not so sure about that, but we might only stay in Paris one more day, we'll see. I was disappointed about the bookstore, but I'm trying to get over it and go with the flow. We've got a baguette, some cheese and chocolate covered waffle and we're sitting below the Eiffel Tower just waiting for it to light up. Things can't be too bad!
