I enjoyed your video! I appreciate that you guys did the commentary AFTER the ride (unlike the other youtube guy that drove, recorded, and spoke at the same time)! I love that you guys did Chris' point of view. I was frustrated throughout the novel on the idea that the narrator gave little attention to his child. The narrator passionately described the view of nature. From the beautiful views and life changing experiences, the narrator was intellectually inspired. He discovered himself and learned a plethora of things during this cross-country motorcycle adventure. Yet, his son was deprived of that luxury. Not only was his faced buried in his dad's back, but there was no conversation going on for most of the trip while on the motorcycle. The narrator was so caught up in his own enlightenment that he forgot about his son. This is my problem with the belief that the future is behind us. Because Chris was not in the narrator's view, it seemed that it was easier to forget about Chris. The narrator was focused on the things he saw ahead of him and dismissed what was behind. Definitely a parenting problem here!
